I was in a leak, what now?

• Passwords

  Change impacted passwords immediately and enable 2FA. Use a unique, strong password per site. Check if the same password was reused elsewhere and rotate there, too.

• Email

  Be alert for targeted phishing. Consider adding inbox rules to flag suspicious login emails and enable security alerts on major accounts.

• Phone Number

  Ask your carrier to add a port-out/SIM-swap lock. Avoid SMS for 2FA where possible; use authenticator apps or hardware keys.

• Home Address

  Consider removing public listings, add a mailbox or forwarding service for sensitive mail, and avoid posting location data publicly.

• Bank Details

  Contact your bank immediately, request new cards or account numbers, and enable transaction alerts. Monitor statements and consider a fraud alert.

• SSN (US)

  Place a fraud alert or credit freeze with major bureaus. Use identity monitoring, and contact relevant agencies if misuse is suspected.

• Username

  If a username appears in dumps, assume linked passwords may be compromised. Rotate any reused credentials and audit connected services.

• IP Address

  Reset router, update firmware, and change Wi‑Fi credentials. Treat exposed IP as untrusted and avoid exposing services publicly.

• Date of Birth

  Treat DoB as permanently exposed—tighten KYC/security questions where possible and avoid sharing DoB openly going forward.
